Because Kerouac Moves Me

“What is the feeling when you’re driving away from people, and they recede on the plain till you see their specks dispersing? -it’s the too huge world vaulting us, and it’s good-bye. But we lean forward to the next crazy venture beneath the skies.”–Jack Kerouack “On the Road”

This quote has haunted me through the years. The entrances and exits and crazy choreography that a life follows. Sometimes I lead…sometimes I accept others who take hold of my hand and pull me in unexpected directions. It is crazy terrifying, and beautiful calm. It is a brief encounter and a goodbye and then folding my own hands together moving forward.
